ANALYSIS

As the start of BBL06 rapidly comes upon us, clubs are looking to finalize their list before the December 2nd deadline. For the Hurricanes, this leaves them looking for a suitable all-rounder to add to their attack.

With the additions of 30 year old English bowler, Stuart Broad and legendary Sri Lanka batsmen, Kumar Sangakkara filling up the international slots for BBL06, the Hurricanes have situated themselves well with experience.

As the Hurricanes look to strengthen their bowling attack with the likes of Stuart Broad, who will lead the attack along side, Shaun Tait and new recruit, young Hamish Kingston - who was picked up in the trade that saw Ben Dunk head to the Strikers, the Hurricanes are on the look out for an all-rounder who can bat to add depth, similar to Daniel Christian.

"We were really keen to add some extra depth to our death bowling in particular and as a bowling all-rounder he provides us with more batting options in the lower order as well," Hurricanes Cricket Manager Andrew Dykes said.

Dykes believe that letting go Ben Dunk will assist the list as they try to create a more versatile attack to lead them to their maiden BBL championship.

"We think it's important to have someone in our top six who can bowl and by getting this trade done we've opened up an opportunity to sign someone who ticks this criteria," Dykes explained.

"We are currently in discussions with potential candidates for the final two Hurricanes contracts for BBL|06 and we hope to make an official announcement in the next few weeks regarding these players".

With two more spots left on their list, the Hurricanes want to recruit an all-rounder who can bat, but this leaves us wondering who they will pick up with the deadline for list finalization just around the corner.
