Days out from list finalisation, the Sydney Sixers have signed up explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings.
A spot in the squad opened up for another International player when South African, Johan Botha was granted Australian Citizenship last week.
Billings made his debut for England in June 2015, and doesn't lack experience at the highest level, playing seven T20 internationals.
With fellow English opener, Jason Roy signing on with the Sixers for the first six games of the series, the two will provide the Sixers fans with explosive batting, which will set them up for big scores as they go for their maiden BBL Championship.
"Recent international performances have whet our appetite that his explosive and creative style of batting will nicely suit our line-up," Sixers head coach Greg Shipperd said.
"Sam can bat anywhere in the order and we like that flexibility in our players. Also his fielding is highly rated both as a keeper or outfielder".
Not only reuniting with his fellow Englishman, Billings will be playing alongside Brad Haddin who he shared the glove duties with in the Pakistan Super League.
"Brad Haddin is another one who helped me massively in my time with Islamabad United, both with keeping and batting and I'm looking forward to working with him again," Billings said.
Sydney Sixers BBL06 campaign starts off with a bang when they come up against cross-town rivals Sydney Thunder on December 20th.
